Josh Brolin's Thanos might appear in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," sooner than expected.
Josh Brolin's Thanos is a welcome surprise for Marvel fans, considering the same surprise "Guardians of the Galaxy" brought to the box office. Brolin's appearance in "Guardians" was brief, though, and it's expected he won't make a comeback until "Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters.
Brolin drops a hint Thanos fans will see him sooner than expected, though.
In a recent interview with IGN, Brolin admits he's aware of one appearance in upcoming Marvel Studios films, but there's a couple he's yet to confirm.
"I know what one appearance is going to be for sure. There's one or two that I don't know."
It's possible Josh Brolin's Thanos reappears Avengers 3, or more probably in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." His appearance in the first "Guardians" was a bit of a tease, and the Marvel Comics Universe could set him up before his epic encounter with everyone else in Infinity War.
It turns out Brolin is as excited as everyone else wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. The prospect of Thanos duking it out with practically the entire Marvel Universe appeals to the actor. In an interview with comingsoon.net:
"I love the idea of Thanos," says Brolin. "...Ultimately, it's Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn't you do that?"
"Avengers: Infinity War" is among other projects Brolin is lined up for. The actor reveals how he came across with the role.
"Thanos came along because of my good friend Louis D'Esposito. He and I used to train together. We did 'Hollow Man' together. He called me up and started talking about this thing. It was nice because I could intimately talk to him about it. What I liked. What I didn't like about the whole idea of it.
It was really exciting because of the possibilities that it could be come. Not as an idea or as a blockbuster, but just as something different. It's a character mentality."
Josh Brolin's Thanos voice is confirmed in "Avengers: Infinity War" in 2018 and 2019. The actor will also star in "Inherent Vice," slated for limited release on December 12.
