Yet again, The Witcher 3 release date has been delayed by several months.
Delays in The Witcher 3's release date is becoming regular news, as developer CD Projekt Red announces it's moving the game's launch from this February to May 19, 2015.
The suspension is caused by remaining bugs in the game; the developer intends to release a playable title, with as few glitches as possible. The concern may be related to the complaints on Assassin's Creed: Unity by Ubisoft, which gamers found out plagued with glitches.
CD Projekt Red announced early in the year it's pushing the Witcher 3 release date from late 2014 to February 24, 2015. Now it looks like the anticipation of fans will be stretched for a few more months. The company's board issued a public apology on the matter.
"We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily. It's a hard lesson, one to take to heart for the future. We know what we want to do to make Wild Hunt one of the best RPGs you will ever play. And we continue to work hard to achieve just that. So, we apologize and ask for your trust."
The scope of the game, as well as it's culmination of the franchise, puts the pressure on developers to come up with a release that won't disappoint, at the very least. It turns out the efforts to make sure the game is 100% playable is taking longer than expected (polygon.com).
"Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio's history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly."
As consolation to the delayed The Witcher 3 release date, here's the game's newest trailer, unveiled at The Video Game Awards over the weekend.
