Benedict Cumberbatch finally talks about his Dr Strange movie casting.
The Dr Strange movie casting is finally confirmed, and Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role hardly comes as a surprise. "The Imitation Game" star is relieved he can officially talk about his role, though.
Cumbersome opened up to fans and the press on his new role as the Marvel Comics Universe's sorcerer supreme, and the actor's comments were brief but confirming.
At the 2014 British Independent Film Awards, Cumberbatch says of his role in the Marvel Studios adaptation:
"Excited. Really excited. There's a lot of work to be done and I'm just at the beginning of it all so I'm not going to talk too much about it but it's a thrilling gig to get. I just can't wait. Very excited."
Cumberbatch also confirms to The Hollywood Reporter his role in the Dr Strange movie casting "is a thrilling gig to get. I just can't wait."
The Dr Strange Movie is one of Marvel Studios' first ventures to expand its cinematic universe. The release of The Avengers introduced new and otherworldly characters, which turned out to be an introduction to broader and deeper story arcs.
The success of "Guardians of the Galaxy" paved the way for Marvel. The film studio has indeed plenty of projects lined up until 2019, including "Avengers: Infinity War," which sees the team battling it out with Thanos.
It is rumored Dr Strange will be part of the next Avengers movie, after "Age of Ultron," that is.
Producer Kevin Feige talks on the Dr Strange movie casting, also on how Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect for the part.
"Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.
