"The Little Prince" movie trailer promises a faithful adaptation, and it's in French.

"The Little Prince" movie trailer captures the flight of fancy in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's story; mixing CGI with motion-stop animation, the new movie recreates nostalgia for fans of the book, and stays in tune with this generation.

The new trailer is entirely in French, similar to the first publication of the story. Though the tease could do with translation, viewers who know the story immediately relate to the scenes. Children can also identify with the whimsy of the plot.

"The Little Prince" movie of 2015 retells the fictional story of a pilot who crash-lands his plane onto the Sahara desert and meets a boy prince from a different planet. The boy talks about other planets and people, offering hints and answers to the mystery of human nature and the meaning of life.

The movie takes the plot of the book on a twist, though. It stars a studious little girl with an older gentleman for a neighbor. The latter is apparently the pilot in the story, looking for someone to share his run-in with the little prince. A translated quote from the trailer, as told by the old gentleman:

"I've flown almost everywhere in the world ... until something miraculous happened. I've always wanted to find someone to share my story with, but I think this world, it's become too adult. It's only the beginning of the story!" (cnn.com)

"Le Petit Prince" was first published in 1943, and has since sold more than 107 million copies, appealing to all ages with its meditations on life veiled in an unassuming children's story.

"The Little Prince" movie 2015 is slated for an October 7 release date in France, presumed within the same period in the US. A remarkable cast has been tapped to provide the voices in the English translation, including Rachel McAdams, James Franco, Jeff Bridges, Marion Cotillard, Ricky Gervais, and Benicio del Toro (theverge.com).
