Update On Ashen Rift At Kickstarter Funding: Post-Apocalyptic Game Bumps Up Development With Bigger Team And A Steeper Budget To Raise; Indie-Supported, Progress Steady Release Date Still Unconfirmed

Ashen Rift at Kickstarter games needs backing to help save the world. It may be an exaggeration, but it's definitely what the indie developers need to finish and release the game.

Ashen Rift game is an indie-developed, post-apocalyptic short story of a game. The developing team is a skeleton crew led by Barry Collins, and they are working on a modest budget. The game, though relatively short, are as ambitious as any console title around, though.

Development has gone a long way from the Ashen Rift trailer previously released, but Collins admits the team can't seal the deal short of additional backing at Kickstarter. An interview with cliqist confirms steady progress just the same.

Fans of post-apocalyptic games need to support Ashen Rift at Kickstarter; it's reminiscent of Resident Evil, but instead of rabid zombie dogs chasing the protagonist, a pit bull terrier stands by his side as a trusty companion and sidearm.

Collins says choosing a pit bull as the sidekick to the good guy bumps up the image of the breed, which is considered by many as unpleasant.

"I found over time that there was a really good opportunity to help the extremely tarnished reputation of the Pit Bull type breeds by giving a positive public figure like Bounder.

This (and many other circumstances) eventually culminated in me and my girlfriend rescuing a sweet little 3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier which we named Scully. I really do hope that the success of Ashen Rift translates into financial support for animal rescue organizations..."

The new phase of development is an improvement; Collins says the team is more networked to the Indie developer scene, and the game has "more Press releases, better written content, shorter video, better graphics, and a simpler message."

The funding goal for Ashen Rift at Kickstarter was also increased for a larger development team, which promises better results. On the other hand, more funds to raise also mean delay in development and release date. In the meantime you can check out the trailer below:
