The first sneak peak for Mark Wahlberg's "Ted 2" is up, and it looks like the vulgar buddies have taken their antics outdoors.
Mark Wahlberg's "Ted 2" is a confirmed sequel, and a few hints were thrown about the movie as early as the "Transformers: Age of Extinction" promos ran. A new image offers first look at what part 2 would look like, though.
In the image released by Entertainment Weekly, Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and John (played by Mark Wahlberg) are wearing wetsuits and diving gear, with their backs turned to water; Ted is wielding a shovel. The sneak peak isn't much of a tease, but it's a hint the sequel has Ted going way outdoors.
It's also confirmed "Ted" co-star Mila Kunis won't be returning as John's love interest, but this doesn't mean his relationship with Ted will be smoother without someone getting in the way of their bromance. Amanda Seyfried replaces Kunis in the sequel.
In a previous interview with ScreenRant, Mark Wahlberg hints at what's in store for Ted, which apparently involves more angst and vulgarity. John still hasn't settled down on life since the first film wrapped up, which is a good thing:
"That wouldn't be any fun. No, no, no, they're crazier than ever."
Mark Wahlberg's "Ted 2" also has the stuffed toy facing a bigger enemy in Seyfried: "It's a problem, but Ted has bigger issues, bigger fish to fry."
Details are few on the "Ted" sequel, which is expected to push through for a summer 2015 release. Seth MacFarlane confirms Ted will remain the only character of his kind, though. That is, viewers shouldn't expect another animated stuffed animal to pair with or challenge Ted.
"It's basically the way we treated Stewie in Family Guy. He's the only one of his kind who can talk."
Mark Wahlberg's "Ted 2" release date is on June 26 (cinemablend.com).
