The new "Better Call Saul" trailer previews the beginnings of Saul Goodman in Jimmy McGill.

AMC is capitalizing on whatever momentum "Breaking Bad" left behind, releasing the newest "Better Call Saul" trailer to tease the beginnings of Walter White's (other) partner in crime.

"Better Call Saul" took a long time coming, but apparently it isn't late on the heels of "Breaking Bad." It's evident there won't be another season in store for "Breaking Bad" after the previous one wrapped up, so AMC and show-runner Vince Gilligan made room for a prequel instead.

Bob Odenkirk will reprise his role as Jimmy McGill, who is Saul Goodman before his run in with Walter White. The new "Better Call Saul" trailer shows McGill in argument with a lawyer (Howard Hamlin played by Patrick Fabian), and being kidnapped, bound and thrown into the desert.

A quick glimpse of Jimmy McGill's office also hints the lawyer is in need of a break, starting out between a rock and a hard place, the same way Walter White was at the beginning of "Breaking Bad."

Jonathan Banks returns (or is resurrected) to the fold as Mike Ehrmantraut: Jimmy McGill's right-hand man tasked to do all the dirty work. McGill and Ehrmantraut's first run-in was as unpleasant, as expected; a scuffle at a multi-storey parking lot where Mike works as attendant.

The new show also introduces Jimmy's brother Chuck, who is expected to be seriously involved in the crooked lawyer's affairs.

The "Better Call Saul" trailer is sickeningly short, but it's the first major reveal after months of teasing. The show appears to have all the ingredients that made "Breaking Bad" a success, apart from Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, of course.

You can watch the thirty-second trailer below; the show premieres on two consecutive nights at AMC, February 8 Sunday and February 9 Monday at 10PM ET (theverge.com).
