Fresh news on "Orange is the New Black" season 3; fans should expect a more somber "Crazy Eyes" Suzanne when the new run for the show jumpstarts.
Details are scarce on Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" season 3, but mainstay Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes," hints her character won't channel happy thoughts next run. A TV Line interview with Mike Ausiello, insider for many TV shows, hints as much:
"Back your nose away from the glue stick, Jill. OITNB will probably be around for at least another four seasons beyond its upcoming third. Speaking of which, after Suzanne was left sobbing in the wake of Vee's disappearance, Uzo Aduba says we will find Suzanne in a 'broken place' when Orange returns.
[Series creator] Jenji [Kohan] is playing with the idea of faith and belief. What is faith? What is it we choose to believe in?" Aduba shares. "And [those questions] are true for Suzanne, as well."
It was reported Laura Prepon will step out of the show after a limited appearance on season 2, but the "That 70's Show" star has confirmed she will return next run in a more involved capacity: Netflix has confirmed Prepon's renewal as well.
"Orange is the New Black" season 3 will also be followed up by at least four more seasons, according to a TV Line report. It's yet to be confirmed, but valid considering the show has received rave reviews and reception for the past couple of runs. Season 3 is expected to be released in the middle of 2015, though a specific date is yet to be announced by Netflix.
Uzo Adaba's character Suzanne was duped by Vee (Lourraine Toussaint) into taking the blame for assaulting Red (Kate Mulgrew) when season 2 wrapped up. Vee managed to escape prison but later had a literal run-in with Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat) (enstarz.com).
