Is Final Fantasy XV PC in the works? Square Enix has yet to announce the game's release date on the console, but a job posting hints PC-related development is brewing up. The FF XV demo won't be available till March, and early news of a probable spin-off could bring back PC into the fold.

Final Fantasy XV PC could be the breakthrough Windows users are waiting for, with the scarcity of Square Enix titles ported or developed for the PC. A petition for the PC port was even posted on change.org, apparently to no avail:

"It's been a long time since we have seen a Final Fantasy game on the PC. With this petition, us PC gamers hope that Square Enix will have a good reason to revive Final Fantasy on PC since it is being developed on PC with DirectX 11."

A September update posted Final Fantasy XIII is being ported, at least:

"This is great news guys! This shows that Square enix has interest in the PC platform. Keep them signatures coming and let's show them that we want FFXV on PC!!!!"

Though Game Director has yet to confirm the possibility of a Final Fantasy XV PC port, a job posting for Square Enix hints the developer has similar plans.

The extent of the involvement is still speculated, which could be anything from a spin-off to the need of development skills on the PC, for a game exclusively released to the consoles.

A demo for the console version is at least confirmed by Hajime Tabata, with new content piled in from the initial release.

"At first the idea was to center the demo around the places you can drive, but the focus shifted towards exploring by walking across the world map.

We really want people to experience that along with the cycle of combat and returning to camp. For example, that part in the trailer where you see that Behemoth walking around [is in the demo]."

The Final Fantasy XV release date is yet to be announced; Final Fantasy Type-0 HD launches this March.
