Second Thoughts On The Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin Relationship; ‘Mortdecai’ Star Thinks Marriage With Coldplay Frontman Would’ve Worked Out; Couple Remains ‘Consciously Uncoupled’

Is she having second thoughts on the Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin relationship?

The "Mortdecai" actor confesses it would've probably been better if she stayed married to the Coldplay front man, especially because that's what the kids would've wanted.

The status of the Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin relationship remains uncoupled, although they live practically next door to each other. They settled their differences earlier this year in an amicable separation, but remained in touch; the couple was spotted together in several incidents, in a dinner date and in a friend's gathering.

Now Gwyneth confirms the possibility things would've worked out with Chris in the January 2015 interview for Harper's Bazaar UK, US Magazine reports.

It's painful, it's difficult, it might be easier to say, 'I never want to see you again,' but what good does that do anyone?" Paltrow, 42, told the mag. "We've made a lot of mistakes, and we've had good days and bad days, but I have to say, I'm proud of us for working through so much stuff together - and not blaming and shaming.

Of course, there are times when I think it would have been better if we had stayed married, which is always what your children want," she said. "But we have been able to solidify this friendship, so that we're really close."

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's relationship happened considerably fast, according to the "Iron Man" co-star. Martin comforted Paltrow in the wake of her father's death, and the two eventually drew closer.

"Men are very young at that age, and I was relying on him very heavily and I really expected him to keep being this grown man and pillar of strength - which he was and is - but it's also quite an unfair set of criteria to give to someone who's just 25 years old."

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have their daughter Apple and son Moses between them.
