The new "Ant Man" movie trailer is 17 seconds long, but at least it's played out in aspect-ration humans can appreciate. Marvel apparently felt guilty for the ant-sized trailer it recently released, so a human-sized version of the tease came out for fan boys to salivate on.
The new "Ant Man" trailer is just a sneak peek of what Tuesday's full tease will reveal, to be shown during the season 1 premiere of ABC's "Agent Carter." Marvel Studios already revealed core details of the movie's plot in press release. Watch the trailer (rendered in standard resolution) below:
The trailer offers split-second glimpses of scenes in the movie; Paul Rudd is shown in character Scott Lang, in what appears to be a police arrest. In the Ant Man series graphic novels, Lang is involved in petty crimes to cover for his daughter's medical expenses; it's yet to be seen if the movie adaptation will follow through on this story arc.
There's also Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, in a preview of the lab Ant Man is expected to defend. Hank Pym plays a pivotal role in the movie, and is the character's introduction to Marvel's cinematic universe.
Darren Cross, or Yellowjacket is teased strolling the halls of Cross Technological Enterprises, followed by glimpses of the Ant Man suit.
There are quick peeks of eye candy Evangeline Lily, also an unidentified, dark-haired woman. The "Ant Man" trailer is short and sweet, and is basically a first look at the main characters on screen (cinemablend.com).
The tease is expected to boost ratings for "Agent Carter," which replaces "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." as it goes on season break. "Agent Carter" stars Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Captain America's lost love, in an effort to move on after The First Avenger's apparent death.
"Ant Man" release date is pegged this July 17, 2015.
