Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz' wedding ceremony was held at the "Annie" star's mansion in Beverly Hills on January 5, and details of the event are slowly emerging.
Nicole Richie (who's married to Benji Madden's twin brother Joel), Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz's older sister Chimene Cain were the bridesmaids in the wedding. The former Good Charlotte guitarist also gave the "Sex Tape" actress a note before the vows.
According to Us Weekly, Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz's Jewish wedding was planned and organized by Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove.
"The bridesmaids wore black dresses and carried white bouquets, entering the room to a Ryan Adams song," the magazine said. "Benji's nephew Sparrow Madden, the 5-year-old son of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, was the couple's ring bearer."
Dressed in a low-cut back gown that sparkled against the lights, the 42-year-old bride entered the room with Nat King Cole's "Stardust" playing in the background.
"When the time came for the pair to exchange rings, Benji accidentally dropped his, and the 100 guests laughed along with the bridal party. To seal the deal - as is custom in a Jewish ceremony - Madden stepped on and broke a glass as the crowd shouted, 'Mazel Tov!'" the magazine added.
Cameron Diaz in past interviews have insisted that she doesn't believe in the institution of marriage.
In 2011, she was asked by Maxim magazine whether she thinks marriage is a dying institution. She replied: "I do. I think we have to make our own rules. I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."
In another interview with Elle magazine, she said that marriage will only force people to be with each other. "I think a lot of people are married to people they're not romantic with any more. I just didn't ever marry anybody that I then had to get divorced from. We break up. We move on," she added.
However, Cameron Diaz's wedding to Benji Madden proved that the "Annie" actress has changed her mind regarding marriage.
