A new inmate joins the "Orange is the New Black" season 3 cast.
It's confirmed model Ruby Rose will be the new "prospect" for both Laura Prepon (Alex) and Taylor Schilling's (Piper) characters when the show resumes its run on Netflix this June.
Ruby Rose is confirmed to join the "Orange is the New Black" season 3 cast. Though her character is the object of affection by two leads in the show, she's already taken in real life, set to wed author Roald Dahl's granddaughter, no less.
Elle Magazine broke the news of Rose's casting as Stella Carlin, the new inmate Alex and Piper will be attracted to. In real life, Rose is engaged to Roald Dahl's granddaughter Phoebe. The couple talked about their relationship in the latest issue of Out Magazine.
It turned out their relationship was sparked by the proverbial love at first sight, according to Dahl, a clothing designer. She confessed to the magazine, "I was in another relationship at the time, which was a little problematic, because the second I saw Ruby, I completely fell for her."
"It sounds corny, but it was love at first sight. Apparently, she felt the same thing," she added.
Rose confirmed, adding that their first meeting involved Dahl wearing sweatpants, sweater, and a dirty pair of Converse. She said she was instantly attracted, but had to wait for Dahl to break up with her partner before she made a move.
"I asked her mom and her sister, we planned a surprise, and I proposed to her four hours before she got on the plane. It was like, 'Yes! OK, bye.' What's worked for Phoebe and me is that we knew we'd be spending a lot of time apart because of our work."
Rose said the time spent apart kept their uniqueness in check, adding that turning into the other person is the start of the end of the relationship.
"We keep our independence, but we've made the decision that we're going to be together."
