Patrick Dempsey and wife Jill Fink are headed for divorce after 15 years of marriage.
In a report from TMZ, Jill Fink reportedly filed for divorce papers, citing irreconcilable differences from "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey.
"Fink, who is repped by disso queen Laura Wasser, is asking for joint custody of their 3 kids, a 12-year-old girl and 7-year-old twin boys. She also wants spousal and child support," it said.
According to the gossip news site, there was no prenup in place which means Patrick Dempsey's $40 million estate is due for division.
"It remains to be seen whether it will be amicable," a source said. "She's all about the kids."
They were married on July 31, 1999. Patrick Dempsey's divorce from Jill Fink will affect the kids, Tallulah Fyfe, 12, and twins Sullivan and Darby, 7.
According to Radar Online, Patrick Dempsey gushed about being married to Jill Fink.
"The best part about being married is feeling centered. Nothing else matters so much as long as you can come home and be with your family," he said. "She'll do things on her own so she can come back and be much more patient with the kids. I go car racing."
The statement published on People magazine confirmed Patrick Dempsey's divorce to Jill Fink. "It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage. Our primary concern remains the wellbeing of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family's privacy at this very sensitive time."
According to the magazine, Patrick Dempsey was in Daytona Beach in Florida for a racing event when Jill Fink filed the divorce papers. The timing was significant because it was McDreamy's wife who pushed her husband to race. "Her influence was profound. Jill just gets me to believe in my dreams - and act upon them," the 49-year-old actor told People at that time.
