It's confirmed. JYJ's Park Yoochun will romance actress Shin Se Kyung in the upcoming fantasy drama "Sensory Couple."

Park Yoochun confirmed his participation a while ago and now, according to an SBS spokesperson, Shin Se Kyung has made a commitment.

"Sensory Couple" is the latest and perhaps still also a temporary title for the drama previously known as "The Girl Who Sees Smells."

Park Yoochun will star as a man who lost his sister in an apparently senseless murder. The crime, which is known as The Barcode Murder, remains unsolved years later. Frustrated because he had no answers to her crime, he became a detective whose primary objective is to solve cases.

Because of the murder, he has also lost the ability to gather valuable information through his senses. He's disabled because he can't smell or taste things like a normal person can. He is unable to feel pain.

Shin Se Kyung has taken the role of the female lead in the drama. She plays a woman who somehow survived the same murderous incident that cost the life of Park Yoochun's sister. But surviving the incident has changed her forever. In the process she lost some of her memories and gained supernatural abilities. Her supernatural abilities focus on her heightened senses.

The role that Shin Se Kyung is taking was previously offered to miss A's Suzy Bae but the singer-actress declined it due to scheduling conflicts. Suzy Bae has not appeared in a drama since the 2013 historical fantasy drama "Gu Family Book."

Shin Se Kyung has been busy with both film and drama work since her 2013 drama "When A Man Loves." She received criticism for that role because she played a woman who dated two men. Her 2014 drama "Blade Man," with co-star Lee Dong Wook, did not do well in the ratings, never passing 6.9 percent and dropping as low as 3.4 percent. But in 2014 she also appeared in the film "Tazza 2: The Hidden Card" with Big Bang's T.O.P., Kwak Do Won and Lee Honey.

Park Yoochun has won acting trophies from MBC, KBS and SBS, as well as Best New Actor awards for his role in the film "Sea Fog." He appeared in the dramas "Missing You," Sungkyunkwan Scandal," "Miss Ripley," and "Three Days."

The drama begins filming in April. Lee Hee Myung, who wrote one of Park Yoochun's previous drama hits, "Rootop Prince," as well as the melodrama "Yawang" has written the screenplay for "Sensory Couple."
