Dodge has created a very popular muscle car, the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. Since the demand for this car became so high alongside Charger, it ran short of supply.

"Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system," the company said in a statement.

According to foxnews.com, a 50 percent price increase has been added to the automobile's original tag listing it for almost $100,000.

"The shortage has led to 50 percent markups on the $60,000-plus by some dealers, while others have reportedly taken dozens of deposits on cars they could take years to deliver, leading Dodge to warn customers of what it called 'unscrupulous' behavior," FoxNews.com stated.

Reportedly, an auction which will be televised on April 10 is ongoing to see how high car enthusiasts are willing to pay for the new Dodge Challenger SRT. It is offered at the approaching Mecum Auctions event in Houston.

"The car that will cross the block has just 9 delivery miles on it, and hasn't even been dealer prepped for sale. The seats are still wrapped in plastic, and the Phantom Black Pearl-painted Challenger features a 6-speed manual transmission, brass-colored wheels, red seatbelts and the optional navigation system," Foxnews.com described the car in auction.

The official price for this particular auctioned car is $63,070, and is expected to shoot up.

CNN reported that the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat "is the most powerful regular production muscle car ever made. It's powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine."

"It sits quietly, patiently, like it's stalking prey. Then suddenly, your red key unlocks and awakens the unprecedented 707 horsepower of the most powerful muscle car on the planet," driversrt.com describe the Challenger Hellcat.

At the moment, orders for the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat are suspended until further notice.
