The 2016 Toyota Tacoma has been dominating the midsize pick-up segment for about a decade now. With the emergence of its competitors, the redesigned vehicle might still maintain the lead based on the dependability it has established over the years.
According to post-gazette.com, this "almost bullet-proof truck" has put up a "great reputation for its quality, dependability and reliability."
"For the past 50 years adventure-seeking Americans have relied on Toyota trucks to take them places, on and off-road," Bill Fay, Toyota Division Group vice president & general manager, said.
"The all-new homegrown Tacoma is a tough truck designed, developed and built for lifestyles of the young and young-at-heart," he added.
The Japanese automaker is confident about the redesigned 2016 Toyota Tacoma pick-up and promises that it will be better that its predecessor.
"Its heritage of unwavering capability and unbreakable attitude grows with an available, all-new 3.5L V6 with direct injection and 6-speed transmission, plus rugged, available features like Crawl Control (CRAWL) and Multi-terrain Select," Toyota website stated.
"And for the first time, every Tacoma will come standard with a GoPro® mount to help you get all the adventure on video. This is how we make America's best-selling midsize pick-up in its segment for the last ten years10 better in every way," it added.
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma pick-up is reportedly powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3.5-liter Atkinson cycle V6 paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. A shift-stick option for the manual transmission is only offered with the V6 nets. V6 has the D4-S technology, which allows switching from port injection under low engine loads and direct injection systems at higher rpms.
A previous report from NY Daily News noted that the 2016 Toyota Tacoma pick-up's price ranges from $21,000 to $30,000 subject to trim selections.
