Looks like Brazilian mixed martial artist, Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino is desperately trying to drive Ronda Rousey into a fight.
Sherdog confirmed Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino has signed with the UFC; however the agreement between the parties took place approximately two months ago.
Wednesday, March 25, UFC President Dana White confirmed to UFC Tonight that Cyborg signed with the Las Vegas-based promotion prior to her Feb. 28 fight at Invicta FC 11. That said, Justino must compete at 135 pounds in Invicta for her to receive her desired matchup with women's bantamweight champ, Ronda Rousey.
In a statement sent to MMAJunkie via her manager George Prajin, Cyborg took aim at her arch rival, Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey.
Justino suggested a long-debated but seemingly impossible catchweight fight with the UFC champ is inconceivable as Rousey will either retire to focus solely on a prospering movie career or drop down to the 125-pound flyweight division in order to avoid a potential bout with her.
Further addressing Rousey's steroid accusations as well as her past opinion of her 2011 failed drug test, which eventually cost Justino the Strikeforce title, she pointed out the bantamweight champ's readiness to move up in weight for a fight with Gina Carano, a retired MMA vet or even former undefeated pro boxer, Laila Ali - but not her.
"The fans see me coming and you talking," Cyborg said.
However, it obviously is not going to be a simple task for the Brazilian mixed martial artist.
Sherdog noted that Cyborg is expected to defend her featherweight strap at Invicta FC 13 on July 10. Following that, she is expected to make the cut to bantamweight for a late 2015 appearance with the all-female promotion. Considering everything goes as planned there, Cris will be able to finally make her much-anticipated UFC debut sometime next year.
Judging by this, it looks like fans will need to wait to see Cyborg go toe-to-toe with arch-rival Ronda Rousey.
