Asus chief executive Jerry Shen told the Chines press that when the Zenfone 3 will be released, it will feature a fingerprint recognition sensor.
The GSM Arena reported that Shen disclosed that the upcoming device will have the said sensor and might come with the same kind of biometric scanning technology.
She added that Asus fans will not have to wait for the Zenfone 3 to experience the fingerprint sensor as the company is planning to feature the said technology to Zenfone 2 in the second half of this year, cite G For Games.
As of this writing, there are no details yet given by the company about the specs of the new Zenfone 2 variant will sport.
Meanwhile, the Asus Zenfone 2 is available in Europe, the model number ZE551ML will be available for €299 for a limited time, the ZE550ML will cost €249 and the ZE500CL cost about €179.
All variants of Asus Zenfone 2 run on the company's new Zen UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and feature Intel Atom SoCs and all the versions' internal storage can be expanded up to 64GB via memory card slot.
The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL model has 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, it has 5.0-inch HD display with 2GB of RAM and 2.500 mAh battery that can run the phone for 360 hours under standby mode.
The ZE551ML has 5.5-inch full JD display and powered by 64-bit class based 2.3 GHz Intel Atom processor Z3580 with PowerVR G6430 GPU, 4GB RAM and 3,000 mAh battery. As for the internal storage, the device has 16, 32 and 64GB respectively.
On the other hand, the ZE550ML has 5.5-inch HD screen and powered by 1.8 GHz Intel Atom quad core Z3560 with PowerVR G6430 GPU, 16GB memory, 2GB RAM and 3,000 mAh battery.
