If you are a fan of actor Lee Min Ho, today is a good day to celebrate. The actor was born on June 22, 1987 in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak Gi on Seoul. And what better way to celebrate the star of the drama "The Heirs" and the film "Gangnam Blues" than by singing a song for his birthday.
Only Lee Min Ho thinks he ought to sing the song to his fans instead of the other way around. To thank his fans for their support, he released a song titled "Thank You," that he wrote himself.
Lee started modeling and acting in his second year in high school and made his acting debut in the 2003 drama 'Sharp," playing a student. He's worked hard since then, becoming one of the most famous Hallyu stars of his generation, but he says he owes it all to his fans.
He released the song on his birthday through his official fan club MINOZ and said he did so because he saw the song as a gift for those who stood by him for all these years.
Hwang Chan Lee, who created Lee's 2013 album "My Everything," composed the music for the song. But Lee Min Ho wrote the lyrics. He released a statement through his agency, Starhaus Entertainment about his decision to write the song.
"Because the fans were with me since my debut, my twenties were more meaningful and happy," said Lee. "I wanted to create memories with the fans. Following the song's release in Korea, it will be available to fans around the world."
The song is not the first thing Lee has done for his fans. He created a donation site named PROMIZ (PMZ), which combines his name and the name of his fan club MINOZ. The actor saw the site as a way to give back to those who love and support him. He used the site recently to donate $100,000 to UNICEF in the name of his fan club. The money was used to help victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal.
In 2014, PMZ donated $50,000 to Charity: Water, a non-profit organization that brings clean water to people in developing nations.
Since it is Lee Min Ho's birthday, fans may want to celebrate by watching or re-watching some of his dramas, which include "Boys Over Flowers," "City Hunter," "Personal Taste," and "Faith: The Great Doctor."
The actor will soon star in the blockbuster film "The Bounty Hunters," which will be filmed throughout Asia.
Lee previously released two albums, "My Everything" and "Song For You," but said his music is for his fans only and he does not wish to pursue a singing career.
