The last few days have been hard on Lamar Odom with two of his closest friends passing away, their deaths purportedly related to possible drug abuse. Now rumors have surfaced that the former NBA star is contemplating on entering rehab and that the Kardashians are allegedly doing everything to make it happen.

The Hollywood Gossip noted that Lamar Odom's best friend Jamie Sangouthai reportedly died from a bacterial infection after using intravenous drugs last week. While his other close friend Bobby Heyward died from what is believed to be a drug overdose. These events have reportedly made his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian suggest that Lamar go to rehab.

"Times like these are when he needs Khloe the most," an insider close to Lamar Odom reportedly told Hollywood Life. "She's always been that bedrock of love and support and he desperately needs that from her. He's lost two of his best friends on the planet - the last thing he wants now is to lose Khloe. He's in a really rough head space now and is trying to do his best to cope with reality."

"He's trying to stay active and be around supportive friends and family. He needs to stay occupied because if he's left alone and to his own devices, it could be extremely bad for him and no one wants that."

Even Khloe's Family is reportedly on board in making Lamar Odom enter rehab. Does it have something to do with keeping the former athlete from Khloe?

"All of Khloe's family is trying to help her get Lamar into rehab," a source reportedly told Celeb Dirty Laundry. "It's not that they wish any ill will on Lamar, but they're not exactly fans of him either."

"They're doing it for Khloe, they know that if she loses Lamar to drugs too, she will never be the same. Even Kim, who has been trying to convince Khloe to divorce him for years, is helping her sister out with the intervention and finding a treatment center."
