Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner confirmed that they are indeed headed for divorce in a statement released a day after their 10th wedding anniversary.
In a statement published on Daily Mail, the couple said, "After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce."
"We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding," it added.
The statement confirmed weeks of speculations on Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner divorce, purportedly because of his cheating ways.
According to the new edition of Star Magazine, per Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Jennifer Garner is afraid that more women will come out testifying about their night out with Ben Affleck.
"Jen is terrified that hookers, cocktail waitresses, and party girls are going to come out of the woodwork and claimed to have hooked up with Ben. She has never busted him for cheating, but she is no fool," the article said.
The report came in the wake of the interview of former stripper Tammy Morris, 41, with the National Enquirer, who weighed in on the divorce and custody rumors between Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck.
"No, I can't say I'm surprised," she said. "I believe, 'Once a cheater always a cheater.' My advice to Jen is: 'Run!' "
People noted that the strain in their marriage was palpable even when Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner tried to put up a united front amid the divorce rumors.
In one of their grocery runs at the Palisades Farmer's Market, a source told the magazine, "They looked miserable. They didn't speak the entire time. They looked like they were only trying to be around each other for the girls."
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner will now have to co-parent their three kids, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, after the divorce.
