'White Chicks 2' Confirmed? Marlon Wayans Talks Movie Sequel After Successful Social Media Campaign

Marlon Wayans is campaigning to make “White Chicks 2” happen. The actor reportedly will pull all stops to make the sequel possible.

As previously reported by Huffington Post, Marlon Wayans posted a photo of a fake poster of "White Chicks 2" on Instagram with the caption, "Show of hands who wants to see the sequel to this? 300,000 likes and I may make this our next movie."

The publication held that the post has reached more than 300,000 likes in a couple of days. The poster reportedly got over 1.5 million likes on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram combined.

"The response has been overwhelming and amazing," Wayans said.

When asked what will be his next step now that he reached the quota, the actor said that he will be talking to the film producers to make "White Chicks 2" happen.

"This movie is something that my fans really want. This is a movie that definitely should be made," he said.

"I'm on a mission to make this happen. I know with all that's happened in the pop culture and the socialite circles since the original 'White Chicks' we can surely knock a sequel way out the park."

In an interview with The Grio, Wayans revealed that the real reason preventing the producers from greenlighting the sequel is because they were scared that the movie will not fare well in the box office.

"White people... The white man ain't letting us do it," Wayans said.

"I think people are scared that it's 10 years removed. Overseas markets have changed and selling foreign isn't as lucrative as it was for these types of movies.

The actor, however, added that he and his brother Shawn are not giving up for they believe that the film will still be a big hit.

"We'll figure out the business and we'll find a way to get it done because that sequel is a must."
