"Ant-Man" star Michael Douglas briefly split with Catherine Zeta-Jones for six months in 2013, but he would be the first to admit that it reignited their marriage.
In an interview with ITV show, as shared by Daily Mail, the 70-year-old Hollywood legend said that they are in a great place now in their marriage, which is now going on its 15th year.
"We are really, really happy and enjoying our time together and enjoying [time] with the kids, it's a great time," he said.
In previous interview with Daily Mail's Event Magazine, he said that the cancer forced him to focus on what's important in life.
"You see priorities differently. You have a much deeper appreciation of marriage, of your children - you see everything a little bit clearer, and a little brighter," he said.
He also touched on her marriage to Catherize Zeta-Jones as he said that before their split, he "was a mess."
"We had a little bump in the road. The problem in this business is that everything is so public," he added. "I love Catherine as much, more than I ever have. And hopefully the feeling's mutual."
The "Ant-Man" star generated some controversy when he gave an interview in 2013 where he said that tongue cancer can be treated through oral sex.
"We worked things out," he said, talking about Catherine Zeta-Jones. "If both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. You can't do it if it's just one person."
Meanwhile, Michael Douglas said that his 14-year-old son, Dylan, is very excited about "Ant-Man."
"Dylan, my 14-year-old son, takes particular pride in acting as my agent, telling me 'Dad you have to do this movie, Dad you don't understand, this is a whole new audience for you!'" he said. "Now he's very, very excited about [new film Ant Man] and so is his sister Carys."
