The latest "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 spoilers revealed that Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy's (Mayim Bialik) relationship may take the back seat in the premiere episode. It was said that fans of ShAmy may be in for a disappointment as Amy will look for a new love interest following her failed attempt to change Sheldon.

In the season 8 finale, fans saw Amy break up with Sheldon. She explained that they have been together for more than five years but their relationship was not moving forward. Fans were surprised when after the conversation, Sheldon brought out what seems to be an engagement ring. Some fans immediately speculated that Sheldon was actually planning to propose to Amy soon.

The latest "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 spoilers revealed that Amy may get a new love interest in the CBS series. Now that she is no longer attached to Sheldon and the Relationship Agreement no longer applies, she is reportedly thinking of dating someone new.

"Right now, she really wants to take a step back and think about where she is, where they are and how she wants to move forward in her life," executive producer Steve Molaro told Entertainment Weekly.

"I don't think she's necessarily in a rush to find another man, but I don't think she's ruling it out either."

The premiere episode of season 9 will pick up moments after the finale. Mayim Bialik discouraged fans from immediately jumping to conclusion about the proposal.

"People want to jump to all sorts of conclusions because it's super-exciting to do so and they love these characters and they know them," she told LA Times.

"But the neat thing about our show and Jim and my character's relationship is that anything can happen. And I think the finale was proof of that."
