The Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets are allegedly closing in on a deal to trade power forwards Markieff Morris and Terrence Jones.
Recent reports suggest that the only thing standing against the agreement is the league's salary cap and luxury tax rules, according to Yibada. Fans, however, may not need to wait that long for the announcement, as both teams have reportedly found a way to work around the clause.
The publication further claimed that the Suns are determined to trade Markieff Morris next season.
"The Suns knew that they have nothing more to gain in trying to keep Morris in Phoenix, even if he is arguably the best player in their current lineup," the site reported.
"Having an unhappy player is worse than developing a raw rookie, but still management would like to maximize what they could get in return for the 25-year-old stretch four."
As reported by A Sea of Blue, Markieff Morris has long wanted to leave the team after the Phoenix Suns traded his twin brother Marcus Morris to the Detroit Pistons. Although the star player had not specified where he wanted to go, he mentioned that it would be interesting to play for Houston Rockets because of James Harden.
The outlet noted that Suns trading Markieff Morris for Terrence Jones will be the perfect deal for both teams.
"The Rockets offensive system of shoot threes and attack the basket isn't one that Jones has been able to fit into; mainly because he is an isolation driver to the basket that can and will occasionally shoot mid range and three point shots," Justin Hodges of SB Nation pointed out.
"Therefore, Houston does not run any plays for Terrence at all; any production from him comes from what he does on his own with the ball in his hands."
