The latest NBA free agent rumors suggest that the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest in signing Glen "Big Baby" Davis next season.
The Mavs was in final talks with Davis, when the Clippers attempted to offer him a better deal, reported Gospel Herald. The publication further noted that this was a repeat of the whole DeAndre Jordan incident, as the teams find themselves fighting over an NBA player again.
The Los Angeles clippers are reportedly eager to close the deal as soon as possible.
"Clippers remain interested in Glen Davis returning," tweeted Brad Turner of Los Angeles Times.
"Doc Rivers spoke with Baby's reps earlier this week. No deal yet, however. Per source.
In a recent interview, Davis shared that he "would love" to return to the Clippers, given the opportunity reported Sports World. The publication noted that the star played in 74 games for the team and averaged 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game. Davis, however, decided to be a free agent this summer.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times reported that Davis also received an offer from Dallas Mavericks who are looking for a veteran forward.
Some analysts speculate that the only way to tip Davis' decision into the Mavs' favor is for the team to offer him a partially guaranteed contract. This, however, may not be a viable solution as of the moment.
NBA free agent rumors also hint that Davis was also considering playing with foreign team in China and Europe. It was said that Davis is holding off his decision in choosing between Mavs and Clippers because he was also thinking of playing overseas.
"Big Baby also has gotten a call from the Mavericks. China and Europe are also possibilities," Turner tweeted.
