Before actress Gong Hyo Jin plays a secretary who can see ghosts in the upcoming drama "The Master's Sun," she will appear in a short film, "You Are More Than Beautiful," directed by Kim Tae Yong.

The short film is an episode in the feature film, "Beautiful 2012," that is produced by the Chinese Internet TV site Yuku. Gong Hyo Jin plays Yeong Hee and actor Park Hee Soon is Cheol Soo. The two characters pretend to get married because his sick father wants to see him settled. The film segment was previewed at both the Hong Kong International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival.

This film is the third collaboration between Gong and Kim. He first directed the actress when she had a supporting role in the horror film, "Memento Mori," about a girls' high school. While Gong worked on the film she could not wait for it to end, but the film's critical success convinced her to continue acting.

She worked with the same director again in 2006 when he offered her a role he wrote for her in the film, "Family Ties." Her part as a young woman in a difficult relationship with her mother earned her a Best Actress nomination from the Korean Film Awards and again renewed her enthusiasm for acting.

Little is known about the character she plays in "You Are More Than Beautiful," but given past collaborations with director Kim Te Yong, it is likely to be a good fit. Hopefully their collaboration will once more renew her enthusiasm for acting and result in an even more memorable performance in "The Master's Sun."

Gong Hyo Jin is known for taking on quirky roles and also for playing straightforward roles with her own inventive interpretations. She is best known for her role as the anti-heroine in the black comedy film "Crush and Blush." In the comedy, "Pasta," she played a chef trainee. She rarely openly confronted her boss, who did not approve of women chefs, but she always ultimately managed to get her way and even won his love. Her likable character and interactions with her boss, played by Lee Sun Kyun, helped the drama earn top ratings.

Her new drama, created by the successful writing duo, the Hong Sisters, has been described as a romantic comedy with horror elements. So Ji Sub plays Joo Joong Won, a greedy CEO who considers everything in terms of money, even personal relationships. Gong plays Tae Kong Sil, a secretary whose ability to see ghosts makes it difficult for her to sleep at night. The drama will follow "I Can Hear Your Voice."
