Amy Schumer won the Emmy award for the Best Variety Sketch Series in the awards event held yesterday.

Schumer, the creator, writer and actor of Inside Amy Schumer won her first ever Emmy award in the Best Variety Sketch Series category. Schumer thanked her head writer in the first place as well as dedicated her award to her sister in her acceptance speech, according to People. Amy noted in the speech about her sister that "I want to thank my sister Kim, who's the only reason I'm alive and breathing."

Schumer answered the questions put forward in the pressroom backstage funnily but for many it might look that interesting. When Schumer was asked how she would celebrate winning the precious award she replied that "I think you know how I'll be celebrating tonight."

Schumer answered that she couldn't wait to hug her sister as soon as she was handed over with the award and it was the first thing she did as well when she was asked what was going in her mind when she received the award. She also uttered that she was seated in a separate spot from other writers since she was quite famous. The actress also said that it was nice to see all the celebrities on stage and also added that she felt like blacking out, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The Inside Amy Schumer star noted on comedy sketch that "I'm hoping this is about Madonna. I'll just segue it into Madonna, please ask whatever you want." She also added that "We were very grateful that they gave sketch its own category. As a big fan of all those late night shows, we didn't feel like we should be competing with them. We're just really focusing on our win, and it's exciting. I love sketch but I think of what we do as writing scenes, which everyone silently laughs about behind my back."
