Actor Kim Eui Sung goes to Hollywood!

Another Korean actor is making his way into the global scene, "Taxi Driver" star Kim Eui Sung will be collaborating with Hollywood actors Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway in the new series "WeCrashed."

According to YTN, on July 15, Kim Eui Sung was cast in the American drama "WeCrashed" and left South Korea last June to start filming in the United States. In addition, he also finished his first shooting session.

The much-awaited miniseries "WeCrashed" was originally based on the podcast "WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork" by Wondery. It will tell the successful journey of WeWork (one of the world's most valuable startups) and the greed that came with it, which leads to its downfall.

The "Arthdal Chronicles" actor is expected to portray the role of a fund manager in international finance. Meanwhile, Kim Eui Sung's agency Keyeast Entertainment have not released any additional official statement yet regarding the big project that involved their artist.

Meanwhile, the filming for "WeCrashed" is expected to finish in September 2021 and will be broadcasted on AppleTV+. However, there is no confirmation yet of the exact release of the highly anticipated series.

This is not the first time that a Korean actor has been recognized to work outside South Korea. Ever since the success of the movie "Parasite" Korean artists and contents have received consistent and tremendous support in the US.

Kim Eui Sung Previous Projects and Achievements

We bet some of you are already familiar with actor Kim Eui Sung, especially in the hit 2016 MBC drama "W: Two Worlds Apart" in which he played the role of Oh Sung Mo, the man behind the webtoon "W."

Aside from doing series, Kim Eui Sung is more active in working with film production. In fact, he had been part of some of the top tier K-movies of all times such as "Extreme Job (2019)," "Golden Slumber (2018)," "Train to Busan (2016), "The Priests (2015)and more.

Through his years of working in the entertainment industry, Kim Eui Sung is recognized as one of the best actors in Korea. He also won several trophies in the past years. He took home the Best Supporting Actor award at the 53rd BaekSang Arts Awards in 2017 for the film "Train to Busan."

Kim Eui Sung also won the same award at the 2016 5th APAN Star Awards and MBC Drama Awards for the drama "W."

His recent project was in the record-breaking series "Taxi Driver" where he played the character of Jang Sung Chul.
