As SBS gears for the return of the K-drama "The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection," lead star Uhm Ki Joon is stealing the spotlight.

With the broadcast network teasing viewers with intriguing trailers, captivating posters, and still cuts, the actor's new look became the subject of admiration.

In the latest update on SBS, "The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection" stills showcase the comeback of Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon), the vicious villain who runs the biggest mobile platform company in South Korea.

The second half of "The Escape of the Seven" revealed the connection of Matthew Lee to another antagonist named "K."

Interestingly, K's real identity is the apparent heir of Sungchan Group named Shim Joon Seok. He is also the adoptive son of Sungchan Group's chairman, who despises Min Do Hyuk (Lee Joon) for being the true heir of the company.

To proceed with his plan of killing his rival, he had plastic surgery and returned as the Korean-American mogul, Mathew Lee.

For the upcoming spin-off, Matthew Lee had a youthful transformation.

From his bright, icy blonde hair in "The Escape the Seven," he now boasts a modern bowl cut.

Unfortunately, the transformation received mixed reactions. Some are praising the actor's amazing hairstyle, while others aren't happy about the change.

People took to social media and trolled Uhm Ki Joon's transformation for "The Escape of the Seven."

One user even made reference to SHINee's 2009 era, while others were straightforward and expressed how they did not like the whole vibe.

As promised, SBS renewed the 2023 Makjang series with "The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection." The story will continue the revenge of seven people who suffered at the hands of Matthew Lee.

Other than Uhm Ki Joon, viewers will get to see a mix of new and returning cast members. From Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Yoo Bi, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, Jo Jae Yoon, Lee Joon, Yoon Tae Young, and more.

In addition to this, the sequel also introduced CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin as the newest member to join the season. He takes on the character of SAVE's CEO, Hwang Chan Sung, who will also be the key player in Matthew Lee's grand revenge.

"The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection" is slated to hit the small screen on March 29.

Airing every Saturday at 10 p.m. KST, the upcoming sequel is available not just on SBS but on other international platforms.
