Kim Go Eun’s Movie ‘Exhuma’ Receives Multiple Nods at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards

"Exhuma" is making headlines by sweeping the major nominations at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Apart from setting a new record in the Korean box office, the occult movie continues to impress the public after getting multiple nods at the upcoming annual ceremony.

'Exhuma' Nominated for 7 Awards at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards

On the official website and platforms, the Baeksang Arts Awards released the list of nominees for this year.

Set to take place on May 7 at 5 p.m. KST, airing via JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC 4, the award-giving body, acknowledges the achievements of deserving stars and individuals in the film and TV industry.

K-dramas, TV shows, and movies released between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, are qualified to be this year's nominees.

"The Good Bad Mother," "Moving," "Revenant," "My Dearest," and "Daily Dose of Sunshine" will be competing in the Best Drama Awards category.

Meanwhile, "Cobweb," "Noryang: Deadly Sea," "12.12: The Day," "Concrete Utopia," and "Exhuma" were nominated for Best Film Awards.

Interestingly, "Exhuma" did not only get a nod for Best Film but was also nominated for six other categories.

Veteran actor Choi Min Sik was nominated for Best Actor along with Kim Yoon Seok ("Noryang: Deadly Sea"), Lee Byung Hun ("Concrete Utopia"), Jung Woo Sung ("12.12: The Day"), and Hwang Jung Min ("12.12: The Day.").

In addition to this, Kim Go Eun was also among the Best Actress nominees, joining Ra Mi Ran ("Citizen of a Kind"), Yum Jung Ah ("Smugglers"), Honey Lee ("Killing Romance"), and Jung Yu Mi ("Sleep").

"Exhuma" director Jang Jae Hyun received a nod for Best Director together with Kim Sung Soo ("12.12: The Day"), Kim Han Min ("Noryang: Deadly Sea"), Ryu Seung Wan ("Smugglers"), and Uhm Tae Hwa ("Concrete Utopia").

In addition to this, Lee Do Hyun was among the nominees for Best New Actor and Yoo Hae Jin for Best Supporting Actor.

Lastly, "Exhuma" is nominated for Best Screenplay and will be competing against "Killing Romance," "Sleep," "The Hill of Secrets," and "12.12: The Day."

Prior to the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards nominations, "Exhuma '' has been receiving achievements at the Korean box office.

Released on February 16, the film has surpassed 11 million moviegoers.

In a report, the Korean Film Council recorded a total of 11,003,304 moviegoers as of April 2 at 12 a.m. KST.

The success made "Exhuma" the first 2024 movie to reach over 11 million viewers as well as the first Korean occult film to score such a milestone in 40 days.

Showcasing a powerhouse cast, "Exhuma" stars Kim Go Eun, Lee Do Hyun Choi Min Sik, and Yoo Hae Jin, while Showbox is the production company behind the movie.
