29th Busan International Film Festival: Chun Woo Hee Shares Her Secret to 20-Year Career: "Sincerity and Authenticity Are the Most Important"

Chun Woo Hee was part of the famed Actors House at the 29th Busan International Film Festival recently. She opened up about her career, which has already spanned two decades, at the Culture Hall of Shinsegae Department Store in Busan's Haeundae area.

Chun Woo Hee was candid about her domestic and international productions. She discussed her recent shows and hit projects. She debuted with a supporting role in the 2004 romantic comedy film 'Love So Divine.'

After warmly greeting the audience, Chun Woo Hee discussed her emotions behind the productions 'Han Gong Ju,' 'Sunny,' 'The Wailing,' 'Idol,' and many more.

"I often say, 'Salvation comes from within,' but in hindsight, I've taken on many roles where I am either saving someone or being saved by someone. Reflecting on these choices, I realize that love and solidarity are important to me, and perhaps my subconscious is drawn to these values when selecting projects," she said, according to a report from 'Allkpop.'

When it comes to her aspirations in acting, she doesn't put limitations on herself. She also prides herself on being sincere and authentic in her personal and professional life.

"I want to boldly take on various genres and characters and continue growing as an actress. I don't separate actress Chun Woo Hee from the person Chun Woo Hee. For both, sincerity and authenticity are the most important," the star shared.

She added, "While some may believe that artists thrive on intense emotions and instinctive energy, I think artistry comes from how well we can control that energy. I have a deep respect for craftsmanship, and I believe there's beauty in refining oneself over time. I hope to become that kind of person, always striving with sincerity and constant effort."

Chun Woo Hee's last Kdrama was the 2024 fantasy 'The Atypical Family.'

The festival had some highlights since it started on October 2.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival kicked off with the Netflix film 'Uprising' screening. Stars Kang Dong Won, Park Jung Min, and more were in attendance.

TWICE's Dahyun was honored with a Rising Star Award at the Marie Claire Asia Star Awards 2024.
Park Bo Young, Kim Hee Ae, Claudia Kim, and Kim Min Ha were the latest stars to walk the red carpet for the Chanel event wearing Chanel evening gowns and jewelry.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival runs through October 11.
