Model Moon Gabi opened up about the firestorm in the media over her relationship with star actor Jung Woo Sung and the birth of her son, saying, 'My child is not a mistake; I will become a good mother."
Moon released a lengthy statement on her personal social media account on Dec. 28, expressing her frustration over rumors and speculations that have been flying around like gossip since the news of her child became public.
She said she remained silent at first to "protect her child" but felt she had to speak up to correct the "twisted" stories being told.
"I chose the path of silence for everyone, but I was not protected," she wrote. "Eventually, I ended up posting publicly on my personal SNS to protect my child."
Moon's announcement comes after countless media outlets reported that she had sought to marry Jung Woo Sung as he was the person who had gotten her pregnant in the first place.
She said their relationship started at a party in 2022 and that they kept seeing each other until the end of 2023. But she insisted she hadn't spoken to Jung since January 2024 and never asked for marriage or money.

Describing the emotional toll of all the speculation, the model said: "I think the one who gets hurt the most is my defenseless child, so I am revealing my exact position for the first time to correct this."
Moon also included a photo of her son in her post. She said she hoped the world would be safe for him and that she would give him a loving home. She added, "This child was born and raised with the love and blessings of his mother and family."
The child is the actor's biological son, confirmed Jung Woo-sung's agency, adding that they are talking about how to co-parent him. "I am a father and am prepared to father the child right until the end," they said.
Moon ended her remark by calling on the public to stop spreading false information about her and her child and asked the general public to treat them with respect and kindness.
Public reactions to Moon have been mixed, with some applauding her defense of motherhood but others still debating the specifics of her relationship with Jung.
