Lee Wei, a Taiwanese ex-actor, has been upgraded to a suspect in the murder probe into a samurai stab case at a Buddhist temple.

As per UDN report, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office is looking into the death of a woman identified by her surname, Cai, who died from rhabdomyolysis, a serious muscle disease.
According to her autopsy, Cai died as a result of this rare and potentially fatal injury, which is typically caused by crush injuries, overt exercise, or drug misuse.
Surveillance camera footage emerged showing Cai's body in a cart, being brought back to the monastery, taped up. The footage captured three individuals: abbess Wu Huizhu, Li Yuanyuan, and Jiang Pengyu.
Jiang also hacked into Cai's bank account and cleaned it out, authorities said. Investigators believe these individuals have come together to feed law enforcement misleading information to protect Wang Yun, their "spiritual leader."
Lee Wei, a Taiwanese actor who appeared in various television series between 2000 and 2018, originally testified as a witness. He reportedly pressured his fellow followers not to reveal Wang's name to avoid bringing any negative impact to the monastery community as a result of Cai's case.
Prosecutors had called Lee and his wife, Jian, several times for questioning before they were recently reclassified as suspects during their latest round of questioning.
The Da'an Police Precinct searched their home afterward. Cai's was the first of three deaths linked to the investigation, which so far has seen 13 people charged.
As victim statements and crop damage evidence are gathered, this breaking story continues to develop.
