Actress Han Ga In was put on blast following a playful roast video by comedian Lee Soo-Ji.

As per TV Report, Lee impersonated a "Daechi Mom" — slang for parents in the wealthy Gangnam area of Seoul obsessed with pushing their kids to succeed educationally — in the video, which went up on her personal YouTube channel.

The video features Lee as "Jamie Mom" Lee Soo-Dam, a take on the daily lives of Gangnam parents who frequently wear designer clothes and drive their kids to all the academies.
As a result, there's been a surge of hateful comments towards parents in Gangnam, with more netizens going further to victim-blame actress Han Ga In.

Back in October 2024, Han Ga In also released a vlog about driving her daughter to school.
After Lee's parody was posted, viewers began comparison between the two, and comments implied that Lee's mocking was a reference to Han's upbringing. Online Comments: "I came after watching Lee Soo-Ji."

Some critics branded Han Ga In a "helicopter mom," claiming her daughter was being forced into an excessively competitive school.

In a move to clear the air regarding her parenting style, Han has made her vlog private and explained her educational decisions.
In response to criticism, iHQ, the agency representing Lee Soo-Ji, distanced itself from the content and reiterated that Lee runs her YouTube channel independently of the company.
The statement read, "Lee Soo-Ji operates the YouTube channel by herself, and the agency has nothing to do with that. We work with her agency, so they would inform us if it were official content made by our agency, but as it's just a personal project she filmed by herself, we know nothing about this."
As the situation continues to unfold, many are monitoring how Lee Soo-Ji will respond to the aftermath of her "Daechi Mom" video and what it means for comedians and celebrities in Korea.
