Yoo Hye Won — actress-turned-influencer and ex-girlfriend to a former BIGBANG member, best known to K-Pop fans as Seungri's girlfriend — is facing backlash after appearing on Mnet's dating show Couple Palace.

In a recent episode, according to Insight, Yoo discussed her six-year relationship with Seungri, which nearly ended in marriage.

Yoo added during an Instagram AMA session a day after her confession incited backlash, "I truly wanted to be as real as possible."

She explained that their split was due to "stuff that happened," which appeared to refer to Seungri's legal issues.

After her frank comments on Couple Palace, some viewers accused her of "victim playing," claiming she knew Seungri's character and felt doubtful about her sincerity.

One commenter said, "But she dated Seungri first... and then Heo Ung. Those men were not coerced to date her. Accusing them of 'badness,' as if come on. Don't play the victim."

Yoo responded to someone who told her she was playing the victim card by saying, "I never said I was a victim."

Turning to her authenticity on the show, she explained: "Yes I am being my true, genuine self on the show... whoever it is I fancy I just keep giving and giving."

Although she tried to clarify her position, the backlash continued.

Others, however, noted that Yoo has dated prominent figures of dubious repute.

Some commenters slurred, "Al, some dude Toblerone. Normal people don't have a rapist for a boyfriend... or a criminal for a husband."

Yoo Hye Won remains resolute in her approach to the show and her past relationships.

While fans speculate about how fame and lifestyle choices mesh in relationship politics, her dating history becomes a topic of conversation.
