Kim Soo Hyun and Park Yoochun are not going to take a break for the Lunar New Year. Kim Soo Hyun and the cast of "You Who Came From The Stars" are busy working on the hit drama so that shooting does not fall behind schedule.
Although the show's Jan. 30th episode is canceled due to the holiday, filming will continue throughout the three-day festivities.
"The difficult schedule of getting maybe an hour of sleep a day continues," said a representative of his agency Key East.
Kim Soo Hyun has been making do with only a few short naps a day in an attempt to keep the shooting schedule on track. The drama's storyline jumps back and forth between the Joseon era and the present day, which presents special challenges for the actors, the make-up people and the production crew. And then there are the special effects that need to be added.
Kim Soo Hyun plays the alien Do Min Joon in the paranormal romance. Both his acting skills and dedication to the role have won praise from the drama's cast and crew.
"It has been hard for him physically," said the Key East representative. "But his determination to present his best acting skills and a great drama to his fans is wonderful."
His dedication and the drama's excellent production values have helped "You Who Came From The Stars" edge closer to the 30 percent range in the ratings.
Park Yoochun is another actor who will do whatever it takes to make his drama project work. He will not take time off for the holiday this year because he is working on the upcoming drama "Three Days."
The actor, his co-star Son Hyun Ju and the drama's staff decided to work through the holidays to prepare for the drama, which will replace "You Who Came From The Stars" in February.
"The staff and cast have joked around saying that they'll go all-out for three days at the drama's end just like the drama's title," said a representative of Golden Ssum Pictures, which produced the drama.
In the drama the Korean president takes a three-day vacation. Shots are fired and the president disappears. His bodyguard must find him and return him to the Blue House. Son Hyun Ju plays the president and Park Yoochun plays his bodyguard.
While viewers can already see the excellent results of Kim Soo Hyun's soldiering through on only a few hours of sleep, odds are Park Yoochun's dedication will also be responsible for delivering an excellent performance in "Three Days."
