MWC 2014's best gadgets are pretty easy to distinguish. By Day 3, most smartphones, accessories and linked devices have been unveiled.

On top of that, the GSMA Global Mobile winners have been declared. There are still plenty of stuff to see and do at MWC 2014, but mid-week is also a good time to rate the entries at the exhibition.

Sony's smart band was an impressive release and has the potential of topping similar wearable devices. Certainly, it's a match for the Samsung Galaxy Fit.

Samsung Gear Fit has to be one of the most revered tech gadgets at the Mobile World Congress this year. According to Adrian Weckler of the independent.ie, the Fit is the best smartwatch out there for a couple of reasons.

The neat part about the Fit is that it sticks to its job and that is appreciated in an environment where functionality is still questionable. So, if the Fit sticks to notifications and fitness activity, then all the better. Hooray for the Samsung Gear Fit.

Next, the elongated design appears to be more esthetic to the eye than the previous Galaxy Gear 1's squarish look. And the 1.8" is slim and unobtrusive.

Sticking with wearables, the Sony Lifelog records everything you do. That sounds too much like being 'videoed'at a grocery store. That may be a bit too much for some people.

Taking a look at the Yotaphone 2, which has a 4.3" Android touch on one side and the 'e-ink' on th opposite side. This is similar to the Kindle. Would you believe, if you switch to the 'e-ink' side for lighter functions like reading, you can save up to 5 times on battery life - that's a bargain by any standards fo those of us who want the world green.

Moving on to the Nokia XL. An Android device from Nokia is welcoming and the fresh player will add valuable 'joie de vivre' to the Android platform. You have to admit, the OS does get a little boring if you're restricted to just Android. Yes, this is a similar feeling to having Windows Vista on Microsoft based PCs.

But you have to admit, Nokia tries hard to give the 'working man discount' to its faithful. The 5", 5MP touch cost just 110 Euros.

The next entry worth mentioning is the 'Blackphone' and no it's not on the Blackberry line of handsets. Inspired by Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency employee, the phone locks down all the information on your smartphone when you're not carrying the phone with you. Although the Blackphone does allow you to gain access to social media, that would defeat the purpose of having the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 deserves mention for smooth delivery and presentations made by Samsung CEO JK Shin, VP of European telecommunications Jean-Daniel Ayme and Marketing expert David Park.

Though the S5 leaves much to the imagination, it is still one of the few highlights of the show. There is no single attribute, which makes the S5 stand out apart from a bigger screen and more power from its 2.5 Ghz quadcore chip and 3GB RAM.

The Xperia Z2 is similar to the S5 in many ways - it's wateproof, slim and power efficient. Basically it's a heavy duty smartphone that can easily be a favorite for Sony fans.
