According to the official synopsis of "The Akeda," Episode 11 of Season 2, "In the Season 2 finale, Ichabod is buried alive in a coffin; Abbie's in danger of spending an eternity in purgatory; Katrina is a reluctant guest of the Headless Horseman; Capt. Irving is in jail on a murder charge; and Jenny is in a car accident."

What happened on last week's episode? What should we look forward to for tonight's fall finale (S02E11) of the hit American supernatural police drama? Warning: recap and spoilers ahead!
According to CP Entertainment, "Last week on the hit supernatural and action TV series "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) journeyed in search for the powerful sword once held by Enoch. The weapon, as revealed, is the one thing that could kill Moloch therefore putting a stop to his plans of destroying the world. Meanwhile, Ichabod and Abbie still have to deal with the crisis concerning the Headless Horseman's (John Noble) plans. All the while Moloch is also growing stronger. Katrina (Katia Winter) did try to stop Moloch but failed. For the next part of the intense midseason finale of the program, the showdown between good and evil will continue and spoiler reports suggest that someone won't make it to next year. A report from Entertainment Weekly indicated that in tonight's episode, the duo will deal with the "departure of a beloved character" and that fans should expect a "very surprising final twist." With Moloch and Henry teaming up, anything could happen. "Unforeseen sacrifices must be made and loyalties are put to the ultimate test in the fight against evil," the synopsis from The Futon Critic reads. Does the "unforeseen sacrifices" mean that someone is going to die? Speculations from TV.com indicated that it could be Hawley (Matt Barr) who will be saying goodbye. Other sources suggested that it could also be Frank (Orlando Jones), given his issues with Henry. TVLine, meanwhile, cited the tease from lead star Nicole Beharie saying, "This is what we've been waiting for. I hope everyone's ready. Lace up your bootstraps."

"The first thing to take note of here is obviously the villain in Moloch. He is getting extremely close, with the help of his Horsemen, of merging the worlds of purgatory and earth. Basically, the end of days is near, and there are not many ways that Ichabod and Abbie can use in order to defeat him. This is where Irving enters the picture, and really gets to do some awesome fighting with a sword. Since his soul was already promised over, the powers of this sword have no effect on him, and he can be a badass without any reason to be worried. Will everyone survive this showdown? That is not assured, and we would be worried about a few characters at the very least. War does not come without casualty, and you have to imagine that the same would be said when you are dealing with something set around the end of the world. This is not going to be the end of the series this season, as more will be coming up in the spring," explains Carter Matt.
