During the last five years Song Jae Rim demonstrated his acting talent in several supporting roles, often playing cool mysterious characters. But his future roles may favor more romantic comedies.

When he recently appeared with Kim So Eun on "We Got Married" viewers were charmed by his sweet playful personality and the couple's romantic interactions. Of all the stars that appeared on the MBC show and pretended to be married, Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun have earned the highest ratings.

Sharing his charisma and warmth on the virtual marriage show has proven to be a smart career move. His appearance on "We Got Married" may have hastened his first leading drama role and it has already earned him a few endorsement deals.

Song Jae Rim debuted as a model in 2009, quickly becoming a favorite on the runway and in magazines. He won his first acting role in the same year, playing a photographer's assistant in the film "Actresses."

Before appearing on "We Got Married" he was best known for his role as Kim Soo Hyun's loyal and mostly silent bodyguard in "The Moon Embracing The Sun."

After he broke hearts in that role, his career really took off. In the last two years he also appeared in "Nail Shop Paris," "Fantasy Tower," "Two Weeks," "Inspiring Generation," "Secret Love" and "Idle Mermaid." He also had a cameo in "Big Man."

The 29-year-old actor will play his first leading role in the upcoming drama titled "Unkind Women." He will play the role of Ru Oh, an instructor in the Japanese martial art of Kendo. Ru Oh will fall in love with a character played by Lee Ha Na, which promises plenty of comic fun as their characters are very different.

The series focuses on three generations women in a family known for its quick temper. Lee Ha Na, last seen in "The High School King of Savvy," plays the granddaughter. She's a woman who is academically gifted but could use some real-life skills. She went to school with Song Jae Rim's character. His character is not too interested in women and especially dislikes women who act too cute.

Yoon Hyun Ki, who directed the hit drama "My Daughter Seo Young," will direct "Unkind Woman."

Kim In Young, who wrote the melodrama "When A Man Loves" and romantic comedy "The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry," is the screenwriter for "Unkind Woman."

The drama is set to air in February, following "The King's Face."
