Rumors quickly began spreading after Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon announced his wedding plans with actress Park Soo Jin. And those rumors have prompted a response from Key East Entertainment.

The first rumor was that the wedding was scheduled for September because the couple was expecting a child. Those rumors may have started because the couple has only been dating since February 2015. And the 42-year-old actor has never previously come close to marrying. He dated director Lee Sa Gang for a few years but they broke up in 2004. During the nine years since that break-up he is reported to only have briefly dated one person.

But Key East denied the pregnancy rumors.

"It is not a shotgun wedding," KeyEast told the Korean media outlet Naver TV.

The second rumor that began circulating was that actor Park Seo Joon, last seen in the drama "Kill Me, Heal Me," introduced the couple. It was rumored that Bae Yong Joon invited Park Seo Joon for a Lunar New Year meal and the young actor brought his good friend Park Soo Jin to that meal.

But Key East said it was not true. As Bae and Park Soo Jin were both with the same agency, it was inevitable that they would meet. And the couple had already met by then.

Key East told Naver TV that this was not true. There was a gathering but the cople did not meet because Park Seo Joon introduced them.

"It is true that the agency occasionally has gatherings at which artists eat together," said the Key East representative. "At that time Bae Yong Joon and Park Soo Jin felt that they communicated well with one another. The two became interested in each other after finding that they had common interests, not because Park Seo Joon brought her. He was simply there with the rest of the company."

Bae Yong Joon is a majority shareholder in Key East and Park Soo Jin has been represented by the agency since 2014.

Bae Yong Joon became one of Asia's biggest stars when he appeared in the 2002 k-drama "Winter Sonata. "Winter Sonata" has been credited as being the drama that launched the Hallyu. The actor became so beloved in Japan that he acquired the nickname Yon-Sama. His last drama role was in "Dream High," although he had a cameo role in the 2012 drama "The King of Dramas."

Park Soo Jin, 29, was formerly a member of the k-pop girl group Sugar, which also included actress Hwang Jung Eum. Her recent drama roles include playing Park Shin Hye's funny frenemy in "Flower Boys Next Door" and Mo Seol in "The Blade and the Petal."
