Beautiful actress Shin Hye Sun is in talks to star in a new tvN drama!
On March 17, News1, and as per the confirmation of her agency YNK Entertainment, announced that Shin Hye Sun had received the offer to star as the female lead for the upcoming tvN drama titled "Queen Cheorin" (literal title) and is reported that she is positively reviewing the offer.
"Queen Cheorin," having a Joseon Dynasty as the set, will be a bright and comedic fusion of sageuk (Korean historical drama). The drama will be penned by scriptwriter Park Gye Ok who also wrote the "Doctor Prisoner" and "Inspiring Generation," and will be directed by PD (producing director) Yoon Sung Shik who also helmed the famous dramas "Hwarang" and "Tower of Babel."
The upcoming drama will tell the story about the character of Bong Hwan, a man who lives in the modern times whose soul was trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon Dynasty. This drama will show the story from a new and fresh perspective while demonstrating a brand new genre as it accepts the fight against gender clichés.
Actress Shin Hye Sun made her debut on the KBS's "School 2013." After this, she rose to fame with her role in the KBS weekend drama titled "Enough" in 2016. In same year, she also starred in the fantasy romance drama "The Legend of the Blue Sea" alongside Lee Min Ho.
Since then, she was seen in plenty of projects like the tvN's "Forest of Secrets," KBS's "My Golden Life," SBS's "30 but 17," and KBS's "Angel's Last Mission: Love." Recently, she has also been confirmed to star in the film "Innocence."
Shin Hye-sun was born on August 31, 1989. In 2015, she started to land much bigger roles with the dramas "Oh My Ghost" and "She Was Pretty." Shin Hye Sun portrayed her first leading film role in "A Day." Then, right after that, she played a main figure in an acclaimed crime thriller series Stranger. She was also part of the cast having a protagonist role for the first time with KBS2's drama "My Golden Life." This drama became a major hit in South Korea with 40% ratings, leading to increased recognition for the young actress.
It seems like Shin Hye Sun is blessed to have been receiving a lot of projects every year. In 2018, she was cast in the drama special "The Hymn of Death" portraying the role of Yun Sim-deok. In addition to her success, she also starred in the romance comedy drama "Still 17". And lastly just last year (2019), Shin Hye Sun starred in the fantasy romance drama titled "Angel's Last Mission: Love." The same year, she was also a cast member in the film "Tomb Robbery".
"Queen Cheorin" is scheduled to premiere sometime in November.
