Needless to say, there is no doubt he is the first-ever actor to be nominated in the Top 10 candidates on Melon Music Awards. He garnered 600 points in weekly popularity 20 times on the daily chart and 20 times on the weekly chart.

An artist should reach 600 points during weekly popularity or consummated five times the top spot in the music chart and be eligible for Bonsang nomination on the 2020 Melon Music Awards.

The hit OST "Aloha" was released on March 27 as part of his scene in the drama series. Remarkable 20 days after its release, it took a spot on Melon and with a continuous rise day by day.

Jo Jung Suk's remake "Aloha" became No. 1 on the Gaon Digital and streaming charts in Korea earning him a double crown status as well. The song is a remake of the 90's co-ed group COOL's song on their first album "First Whisper" in 2001, but Jo Jung Suk made his rendition more smooth and touching with his voice to the song.

In the music industry, Melon Music is one of Korea's largest music platform and have given awards to some of the brightest stars in Korean music over the past years. This year, the actor is competing against big K-pop artists, such as TWICE, BLACKPINK, EXO's Suho, BTS's V, and many more.

Jo Jung Suk had been in a musical stage since college. He earned and worked hard in music theater plays to support his widowed mother. Throughout his stage acting, he portrayed a total of 25 musicals during the first nine years of his career.

The recently-ended "Hospital Playlist" also released its online concert via live streaming. Jo Jung Suk, along with the other actors, sang live and played the instruments without any stand-in. He led his fellow actors in giving the hit original soundtracks of the show for their appreciation to their fans.

Due to drama's popularity, later this year, the cast will be doing their set of filming for the second season in early 2021. We shall then expect that the actor to serenade us more with heartwarming melodies and sure hits on the chart.

And with the deserved recognition given to Jo Jung Suk's own rendition of "Aloha," he shared his excitement through his message to all his fans.

He said, "It is a song I sang for the drama and I did not know it would be loved this much. Though it has been a bit new experience singing a song that many people already hold dear to their hearts and working with my fellow actors. I am very grateful and enjoyed it all. I am hoping that this song can also give strength to many people."

Meanwhile, this year had been a good one fo the actor and his wife, singer Gummy, as they are expecting their first baby anytime soon.
