After months of drought and at the edge of losing revenue coming to the third quarter, theaters in the U.S. reopens with their own precautionary measures lined up.

The most awaited movie, "Peninsula," is ready to hit the U.S. theaters and be wowed again by director Yeon Sang Ho, with the nerve-wracking zombie-ridden wasteland peninsula with a larger-scale setting. Be mesmerized by the incredible visual effects, high-speed car chases, amplified budget and explosive thrills!

"Train to Busan 2: Peninsula" opened in several Asian territories and reached a whopping $20 million more in South Korea alone. With a total of $26.5 millions across the border, on a 16 million budget film. The first sequel "Train to Busan" which earned $140 million worldwide in 2016. This time the movie "Peninsula" is set to debut in theaters across the U.S. and Canada. Making bigger reached and making the cinema industries alive again.

Reportedly, Well Go USA responsible for the distribution of the highly-anticipated sequel released news as it will debut the movie theatrically on August 21. The said film already smashed records in Canada on August 7.

Director Yeon Sang-Ho returns to direct the sequel after the success of 2016's "Train to Busan". The acclaimed film was a huge success that it reached more than $92 million at the box office. Back in June 2020 prior to its release, director Yeon and the movie already recieved a Cannes Films Festival Invitation, the only Korean film to ever be invited of the prestigious award giving body. The filming took a year in pre-production and the 3rd part in director Yeon's zombie trilogy. Following the hit films "Seoul Station" and "Train to Busan".

The horror-action movie "Peninsula" was created after four years of the previous film. It revolves around a soldier who suffered a remorseful life in another country after he escaped South Korea's viral outbreak losing his closed family and leaving a brother-in-law. He then gets an enticing offer to return to the deserted country with a mission to get a truck loaded with cash and gets their paychecks after.

Little did Jung-seok (played by Kang Dong Won) and his small group know that there are indeed human survivors across the land while it is invaded by zombies in all areas. This is where the story unfolds whether the best or worst nature of human triumph under hard times.

The sequel film will be a marking sign as it will perform in the U.S. since there are uncontrolled circumstances when it comes to reopening theaters in th country.

According to Doris Pfardrescher, the president and CEO of Will Go USA, "The movie 'Train to Busan' is timeless. Though after four years it was released in North America it is still one of our top-rated must watch titles. After we heard about 'Peninsula', we right away knew that the title belongs under the Well Go brand and at the same time a story we wanted to continue to share."

It is also in the works for the English-language remake of "Train to Busan" with James Wan set to produce.
