BLACKPINK's Jisoo will make her big screen debut in the upcoming movie "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman."
During the press conference, director Kim Sung Sik, along with cast members Kang Dong Won, Heo Joon Ho, Esom, and more, discussed what to expect for the upcoming film.
Interestingly, the director teased viewers with a special appearance by the BLACKPINK member. According to him, she will play an interesting character.
BLACKPINK's Jisoo Transforms Into Fairy for Her Big Screen Debut
In a report obtained by a news outlet, director Kim Sung Sik revealed Jisoo's character. He said that he was looking for a specific image of a traditional Korean fairy, and the singer-actress hit all the checklist.
According to the director, he thinks that Jisoo is a perfect cast for the character after seeing her in her first K-drama role.
"While looking for someone who fits the image of a fairy, I could only think of Jisoo after watching the drama Snowdrop," he said.
"Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" dropped the first look of Jisoo for her new role, sparking excitement among viewers, especially Blinks.
The singer-actress' cameo in the upcoming movie is her first appearance on the big screen. However, she is also eyed to join the cast of the new K-Zombie film "Influenza," along with Seo In Guk, Shin Min Ah, and Lee Sung Kyung, who are in talks for the movie.
As for this, Jisoo will play the role of a soldier's ex-girlfriend. They have to fight for their survival as the zombie outbreak begins.
Prior to this, the BLACKPINK member headlined the hit K-drama "Snowdrop," a 16-episode melodrama that aired on JTBC. Jisoo starred alongside Jung Hae In as they played as Eun Young Ro and Im Soo Ho.
It is safe to say that besides her music, fans would get to see more of Jisoo on screen with her back-to-back acting projects.
'Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman' Cast, Release Date
The mystery-horror-crime film depicts the story of a fake exorcist named Dr. Cheon, played by Kang Dong Won, who can't hear or see ghosts. Despite his lack of ability, he tries to solve the cases through his ghostly insight.
However, he encountered a powerful case that he had never experienced before.
Joining Kang Dong Won as the lead star is veteran actor Heo Joon Ho. In addition, Lee Dong Hwi, Esom, and child star Park So Yi will play supporting roles.
"Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" is set to officially hit the big screen on September 27.
