Idol-actor Rowoon shared his humbling experience in showbiz and how his career helped him in paying his parents' debts.

Rowoon Talks About His Career as Actor, Idol

Rowoon made his guest appearance in the famous variety-talk show of Jo Hyun Ah's "Thursday Night" on April 25 on YouTube. He talked about different topics including his past works and personal stories.

During their conversation, Rowoon mentioned his interest in playing another role in a same-sex drama, which Jo Hyun Ah supported. He then recalled his first gay role in 2023, where he acted with his real-life friend Ahn Hyo Seop in the Netflix series "A Time Called You."

He also expressed his feelings about the reason he decided to become a full actor after leaving his former group SF9.

"I thought about it for a long time. I knew there would be risks, but it's a one-time life, right? I thought it was something I had to handle. I had to work hard to prove it."

When asked about how long it has been since he wanted to act, "The Matchmakers" lead star admitted that he was already attracted to acting from his first work.

Rowoon Reveals 'Extraordinary You' Is His Favorite Work

To recall, Rowoon made a special cameo in "School 2017."

When asked about his favorite work, the actor said that his 2019 series "Extraordinary You," where he worked with rising stars Kim Hye Yoon, Lee Jae Wook, and Kim Young Dae, was his favorite project.

"We are all rookies, and the genre itself was fantasy. So, when we were preparing, we prepared together, gathered at a cafe, read the script, and afterward, we drank beer and filmed the series."

He also elaborated that once his colleagues are comfortable, working itself doesn't feel like work.

Rowoon Pays Parents' Debts After Becoming Successful

Since Rowoon is now one of the hottest K-drama actors of his generation, after working on multiple dramas such as "The King's Affection," "She Would Never Know," "Tomorrow," "Destined With You," and more, he established a good image in the eyes of the viewers.

With his back-to-back successful projects, Rowoon was able to earn a hefty amount of money, which humbled him to also help his parents.

The heartthrob confessed that when he started earning enough money and became successful in his career, Rowoon paid all of his parents' debts.

What's Next for Rowoon

Following his last drama "Destined With You" and "The Matchmakers," Rowoon is already booked with another work.

He is expected to collaborate with Shin Ye Eun and Park Seo Ham for the historical drama "Murky Water" (literal title). According to a source, the cast will begin filming sometime in May of this year.
