Ha Jung Woo shared his honest thoughts regarding his new nickname, Korean Tom Cruise.
The 46-year-old veteran takes on a challenging role in his upcoming movie "Hijacking." Ahead of its release, Ha Jung Woo graced the presscon with his co-stars Yeo Jin Goo, Sung Dong Il, Chae Soo Bin, and director Kim Sung Han. There, they talked about their experiences filming the new project.
Marking Kim's directorial debut, "Hijacking" is based on a true event that depicts the journey of a pilot, whose mission is to keep the passengers safe amid the mid-air hijacking .
As the cast members and the director dished on what it was like to film a mid-air thriller, Ha Jung Woo responded to his new nickname, Korean Tom Cruise.

When asked about what it feels like to be labeled as the Korean Tom Cruise, Ha Jung Woo humorously dismissed being called as such.
"I think it was made up by the PR team."

The reference might be through the Hollywood star's "Mission Impossible" role, where he performed airplane stunts as he took on the character of a highly-skilled field agent named Ethan Hunt.
As for Ha Jung Woo, he described "Hijacking" as one of the hardest characters he had to portray.
"I've often played characters who struggle within confined spaces, but this was one of the most challenging roles. Piloting the plane and managing the situation to ensure passenger safety was up to 20 times more difficult than my previous roles."
In addition to this, the top star also mentioned how detailed and precise the production crew was to make them closer to reality.
"Filming in a single space every day with around 60 passengers each session was tough. Capturing every small movement and breath within a frame was challenging yet rewarding. It was a responsibility I took very seriously."
Ha Jung Woo Transforms Into Hero Pilot in 'Hijacking'
Set in 1971, Captain Tae In (Ha Jung Woo), along with his co-pilot Gyu Sik (Sung Dong Il) and 60 passengers, found themselves in mid-air hijacking.
Showcasing an intense real-time thrill ride, viewers will get to see the transformation of Yeo Jin Goo as he takes on his first villain role, hijacker Yong Dae.
Adding to the list of lead stars is Chae Soo Bin as Ok Soon.
"Hijacking" will be officially released in theaters on June 21.
