Freelance model Kim Jong Oh, or "Bung Hae In," was a model before becoming an entrepreneur, but he got the nickname based on looking like popular actor Jung Hae In.

Kim first found viral fame through an Instagram reel where he showcased fish-shaped bread snacks, often filled with red bean paste or cream.

The video has been viewed over four million times, causing a flurry of interest from fans trying to find his bungeoppang stall.

But that virality came with unintended consequences. In a post on his Instagram, Kim said that his cart had been reported to the police and that he was banned from his usual selling spot.

"Hi, it's your bungeoppang seller. I have some bad news to share in Stories," he wrote. "My cart got a lot of attention when one of my videos went viral. But I was also reported and got a call from the district office, so I'm grateful but also not unscathed. I'm not allowed to sell in my regular spot anymore," he added.

As the situation developed, Kim started contacting small business owners locally to see if they would like to partner with him and offered to keep making bungeoppang.

"If you're running a small business in Sillim-dong or have a place that can help, please DM me. I want to pay rent, and I want to keep running my cart," he said.

He still loves his work, despite the obstacles. "With ingredient costs going up during inflation, many bungeoppang stalls have gone away," he said in an interview.

"Sad that these perfect and cheap winter snacks were disappearing, I decided that someone should make them myself."

After losing his spot to sell, Kim made a switch to pop-up events and is also working on coming up with a legit bungeoppang brand.

He thanked his fans and urged them to continue supporting his modeling and baking occupations.
