Actress Kim Bu-seon came out to defend her fellow actor Kim Soo-hyun, claiming that South Koreans treat celebrities like serial killers.

In a new clip on her channel, Kim Bu-seon spoke about the intense pressure on celebrities, granted, in light of the rumors that Kim Soo-hyun was linked to a minor.

Speaking in an earlier YouTube video titled "Celebrity Human Rights Not Guaranteed Even to Serial Killers," Kim Bu-seon condemned online people to a hate crime that celebrities suffer.

She referenced the tragic case of the late actress Kim Sae-ron, who passed away recently, highlighting that over 80% of the comments on her story were malicious.

"I thought, what a sick society," she remarked, as quoted by Sports Chosun. "Is that actress the only one who drives drunk? And that actress paid a sufficient social price for drunk driving."

Kim Bu-seon criticized the double standards in societal expectations, questioning why celebrities are subjected to such intense scrutiny while others are not.

She pointed out that celebrities—like everybody else on earth—are entitled to certain simple human rights.

"They don't even dare to say a word to the wives of those in power, but they harass easygoing figures like Kim Sae-ron and Wheesung," she stated.

Addressing the claims against Kim Soo-hyun regarding his dating history, she defended the notion of personal relationships, stating, "Can't men and women date? Isn't this an era where freedom of expression is abundant?"

She expressed her frustration with what she described as a "witch hunt" against celebrities.

Kim Bu-seon also urged malicious commenters to "give it a thought," as celebrities are a "child of somebody" and deserve love, too.

She finished by reminding us that every human—including public figures—has rights that should not be ignored.

The claims regarding Kim Soo-hyun's dating life have sparked significant media attention, with conflicting reports about his relationship with Kim Sae-ron.

While the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute claimed they had been involved since she was 15, Kim Soo-hyun's representative refuted this, stating they only began dating after both became adults.
